TWINS TORTURES
A dismal season ends with a whimper as last-place Minnesota (59--92) is hitting .213 with five HRs in September—both AL lows. Plus, Justin Morneau knee surgery and ongoing complications from a head injury) is done for the year.
BRADY'S BUNCH
Tom Brady's 423 yards in the Pats' 35--21 win over the Chargers gave him 940 through two weeks—the best start of his career. At this rate, he'll finish the season with 7,520 yards and 56 TDs. Fantasy owners everywhere rejoice.
BUCKEYE BLUES
After a 24--6 drubbing by Miami last Saturday, Ohio State fell outside the Top 25 for the first time in almost seven years, a 103-week streak that dated back to Nov. 20, 2004. Michigan fans everywhere rejoice.
TEXAS THREE-STEP
Mike Napoli is just killing it. Since Sept. 4 the Texas catcher is hitting .526 (20 for 38), slugging .974 with an OBP of .609—all league highs. Teammates Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre are hot, too, with a combined 11 HRs and 24 RBIs in nine games.
CHIEF CONCERN
Look away, they're hideous. Kansas City (0--2) has just 10 points through Week 2. Sunday's 48--3 flop in Detroit was lowlighted by 411 yards surrendered. It gets worse: Running back Jamaal Charles is likely out for the year with an left ACL tear.
