PETER KING'S THINGS I THINK
1. I think the first names that came to mind for the Chiefs' job when coach Todd Haley was fired on Monday were Josh McDaniels and Kirk Ferentz. G.M. Scott Pioli is far more likely to hire someone he knows well—he worked with McDaniels in New England, Ferentz in Cleveland—rather than a coach like Haley, whom he didn't know well. They turned out to have much different personalities.
2. I think it's hard to imagine Raheem Morris keeping his job for a fourth season after the total collapse of the Bucs' defense. Tampa Bay has regressed remarkably in fundamentals, and that falls on the head coach.
3. I think something appeals to the Saints about playing at Lambeau Field in the playoffs. Why would a dome team want to play there in January? The Saints think their running game is weatherproof and could be the best in the playoffs.
