FAST SERVICE

Sprinting great Michael Johnson—gold medalist in the 200 and 400 meters at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and 400 champ four years later in Sydney—never had to stop during races to change shoes or gulp down fuel. But last week the retired track star's company, Michael Johnson Performance Inc., signed a deal with Williams Formula 1 to devise a training program to help the racing team's pit crews improve their speed and agility. Johnson, a longtime F1 fan, says he's confident that MJP, which has worked with NFL players, Premier League teams and Olympic federations, can help Williams "cut hundredths and even tenths of a second from its pit stop times."
