YOU TOO, 40? Rarely was it rough going for Phil Mickelson on Sunday, when Lefty—despite this choppy moment—shot a bogey-free 64 to come from six strokes down to win the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and become the ninth player to reach 40 PGA tour victories. It was a less fruitful Pebble for his final-round partner, Tiger Woods, who entered the day four shots off the lead and shot a 75 to finish tied for 15th (page 28).

LOADED FOR BEAR Kansas's Justin Wesley (4) and Jeff Withey (5) effectively sealed off the paint and, for the second time in three weeks, Baylor with a 68--54 win in Waco on Feb. 8. Four days after being held scoreless in a loss to Missouri, Withey lit up the Bears for a career-high 25 points.

JUST PLAYING A HUNCH Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky found one way to keep the puck out of the net in last Thursday's game against the Maple Leafs in Philadelphia. The more conventional method proved just as successful, as Bobrovsky saved 24 of 27 shots in a 4--3 defeat of Toronto.
