DISTORTED REALITY The rest of the 138th Kentucky Derby field lagged behind Bodemeister (not pictured) when the 20 colts first rumbled past the famous spires of Churchill Downs. But by the time they returned for the stretch run, things had changed: I'll Have Another (second from left) overtook Bodemeister in the final furlong to become the first Run for the Roses winner out of the 19th post.

CHOSEN CAREFULLY Washington rookie Bryce Harper watches a pitch from the Phillies' Vance Worley all the way into the catcher's mitt last Saturday at Nationals Park. The Chosen One completed his first week in the majors with five doubles in 26 at bats and a steal of home off Philadelphia's Cole Hamels in a 9--3 loss on Sunday night.

BASKET CASES The action got a little crazy during Game 4 of the Magic-Pacers series in Orlando last Saturday. Angling for rebounding position here were (clockwise from far left) Danny Granger, Jason Richardson, Glen Davis, Roy Hibbert, David West and Ryan Anderson. Orlando came back from a 19-point deficit to force overtime, but Indiana prevailed 101--99 to take a 3--1 series lead.
