NOT: OH, BOY, CANADA

Credit Canadians with sticking through tough times: Toronto FC is sixth in MLS attendance despite losing its first eight games (a league record) and scoring just six goals so far. Says forward Ryan Johnson, "It's terrible, it's unbearable. I don't know what more to do."

HOT: ROCKIES TAPPED

Colorado has lost nine of 11 games. The problem starts with the 30th-ranked defense; the Rockies turn just 65.4% of batted balls into outs (the MLB-leading White Sox: 72.4%). It might also help if the Rox played only at home. They hit 62 points better at Coors, the NL's widest margin.

NOT: SIR FERGIE SERVED

Mixed emotions in Manchester. With the EPL title on the line and City trailing QPR Sunday, players from Man U (which began the day tied at the top) were ready to accept the cup. To City fans, then, the look on United boss Alex Ferguson's face when the Sky Blues came back was priceless.

HOT: HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS

The Staples Center played host last week to the Lakers' Game 7 offing of the Nuggets and saw the Kings extend their postseason streak of near perfection, sweeping the Blues to set up a series with the Coyotes. Up next: six L.A. home games (Clippers, Lakers, Kings) between now and May 20.

NOT: BACK ON TRACK

One week after finishing 35th at Talladega, Jimmie Johnson won his first race of 2012 last Saturday at Darlington, leading 134 of 368 laps. The win was Johnson's first since Kansas last Oct. 9 and the 200th of owner Rick Hendrick's career. Only Petty Enterprises has more (268).
