HOT: SOX AND THE CITY

Four straight W's? Check. Back to .500? Done. Sweep of the crosstown Cubs? Yup. The White Sox (21--21) outscored the North Siders 16--6 at Wrigley over the weekend with help on Sunday from ace Jake Peavy's seven strikeouts in a 6--0 victory.

NOT: DALLAS MALICE

FC Dallas (3-4-6) hasn't won since April 14, has a league-worst -7 goal difference and last week lost top midfielder Brek Shea to a three-game suspension for kicking a ball at a referee. Shea was subsequently a surprise omission from the U.S. national team training camp roster.

HOT: OH, HENRIK!

Is there any other player you'd rather have on your team right now? Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 36 shots in his sixth career playoff shutout in last Saturday's 3--0 win over the Devils, upping his '12 postseason save percentage to 94.2%. His take? "I was a little lucky today."

NOT: KNEED TO KNOW

First it was the Yanks' Mariano Rivera, then Nats catcher Wilson Ramos; now it's the NL 2011 Comeback Player of the Year, the Cards' Lance Berkman, who's likely to miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Worse news for St. Louis fans? This could spell the end of Berkman's career.

HOT: AVE, MARIA

Maria Sharapova beat Li Na 4--6, 6--4, 7--6 to win her second straight Italian Open on Sunday in a match delayed two hours by rain that turned the court's red clay to mud. Down 4--0 in the second set, Sharapova took advantage of 24 unforced errors from Na and won the next eight games.
