Gonzalez didn't mimic Big Papi in the box score—while Ortiz went hitless, Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with a run scored in the Sox' 5--1 victory over the Phillies.

HEAT OF BATTLE Indiana's David West (left) and Roy Hibbert (55) tangled with Miami's Shane Battier (31) and Joel Anthony (50) during Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals. Indiana won 78--75 to draw even at 1--1 in an increasingly physical series that seemed destined to go the distance.

LOOKING TOWARD LONDON Liu Xiang of China set up in the blocks during the 110-meter hurdles at the Diamond League meet in Shanghai last Saturday. The 2004 hurdles gold medalist missed the event on home soil in Beijing after aggravating a right Achilles injury.
