NOT: DODGER BLUES

L.A. is 13--21 since May 27 and has lost seven of eight (the team was blanked in five of those, tying an MLB record) while hitting just six HRs in June. (Seventeen MLB players hit more than that.) Just for laughs: Matt Kemp, on the DL till July 13, suggested on national TV that he doesn't know who Tim McCarver is.

HOT: JOSE! JOSE!

Blue Jays RF Jose Bautista—again an All-Star—clubbed 14 HRs in June, the most in that month for any AL player since the Yankees' Roger Maris bashed 15 in 1961. The slugger is hitting bombs in typical fashion: 25 of his league-leading 26 HRs have gone out to left field.

NOT: WIMBLE-DONE?

Time to tune out already? Upset casualties at the All England Club last week included John Isner and Rafael Nadal (below), as well as five-time champ Venus Williams, U.S. Open winner Sam Stosur and Caroline Wozniacki, who fell in the opening round of a Slam for the first time in five years.

HOT: BEST WEEK EVER

Yankees OF Dewayne Wise won't forget last week anytime soon. On Tuesday he tricked ump Mike DiMuro into believing he'd caught a foul ball. (He hadn't.) On Friday he pitched for the first time, retiring the two batters he faced. And on Saturday he went 3 for 3 at the plate, a triple short of the cycle.

NOT: DAVID: STERN

David Beckham was snubbed by Great Britain's Olympic team last Friday—and then seemingly took it out on opponents. Against San Jose on Saturday, the Galaxy forward was booked for kicking a ball at an injured player before getting into a dustup with, among others, his own team's mascot.
