"I like these irons because they penetrate really well. I like the way the bounce moves through the ground."

A slot behind the face gives Adams's hybrids more bounce
A driver has more trampoline effect than fairway metals and irons simply because a driver's clubface is thinner and larger than other clubfaces, but Adams Golf says the hybrids in its Idea Tech V4 Hybrid irons have driverlike measurements. According to the company, a slot that runs behind the stainless-steel face allows the face to compress more freely. A polyurethane cover hides the slot. Adams says the hybrids have a 67% larger CT (Characteristic Time, the industry's measurement of the trampoline effect) than the company's Idea a12 OS hybrids from two years ago. The Idea Tech V4 set is available with all hybrids or with three hybrids and five forged irons.

The polyurethane cover, which hides the slot, makes for a crisper sound at impact.
Tungsten in the heel and toe areas helps to create a higher launch angle and more forgiveness.
