Josh Gordon: New Kid

Desperate for a playmaker, any playmaker, to team with Brandon Weeden, the Browns turned on Sunday to their rookie receiver from Baylor. Gordon caught only two of the eight passes thrown in his direction against the Giants, but he did gain 82 yards while becoming the first Cleveland wideout to reach the end zone twice in a game since Braylon Edwards in 2007. Pushed into the supplemental draft after sitting out the '11 season for failing a drug test, Gordon, 21, is far from a sure thing. But right now he's better to have on your roster than drop-prone teammate Greg Little, who had no catches on Sunday.

Action

Reaction

Rams reception machine Danny Amendola suffers a dislocated clavicle; will be sidelined indefinitely.

Chris Givens and Brandon Gibson are now worth owning while Brian Quick is worth watching.

The Packers' Cedric Benson injures foot, ruling him out for Week 6.

Grab Alex Green, who'll have starter's value if Benson is out for multiple weeks.

Drew Brees and the Saints' passing game are clicking again.

Consider sneaking speedy WR Joe Morgan onto your roster during the bye.

Usual starting fantasy quarterbacks Brees and Cam Newton sit out Week 6 with byes.

Take a chance on a rookie QB, Brandon Weeden (vs. Cincinnati) or Ryan Tannehill (vs. St. Louis).

Robert Meachem returns to New Orleans as a Charger, catches two TDs.

San Diego has a favorable schedule in Weeks 8 and 9, so stash him now to use later.

RISERS

Rashard Mendenhall

RB, Steelers

He gained more yards in his first game (81) than either Isaac Redman or Jonathan Dwyer totaled in three.

Andrew Luck

QB, Colts

The No. 1 pick finished with 362 yards and three TDs (one rushing), and he looked like a seasoned veteran on the game-winning drive.

Michael Crabtree

WR, 49ers

Finally blossoming, Crabtree had his third-best standard fantasy day: six catches for 113 yards and a TD.

FALLERS

Pierre Garcon

WR, Redskins

Since sustaining a right-foot injury in Week 1 (when he had an 88-yard TD), he has only four catches for 44 yards.

Jermichael Finley

TE, Packers

He hurt his right shoulder but not before dropping his 15th pass over the last two years.

Michael Vick

QB, Eagles

The turnovers are piling up after two more lost fumbles, marring what would otherwise be a stellar season.
