Front Burner The Falcons' line cleared the way for Michael (the Burner) Turner during a 24--17 victory over the Redskins at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., on Sunday. Atlanta did most of its damage through the air—Matt Ryan passed for 345 yards—as it went to 5--0 for the first time in team history.

One Giant Leap San Francisco catcher Buster Posey went high in an attempt to corral a wild pitch from Santiago Casilla in the ninth inning of Game 1 of the NLDS last Saturday at AT&T Park. The Reds' Xavier Paul advanced to third on the miscue and scored on the next pitch, a passed ball by Posey. It was Cincy's final run in a 5--2 win (page 34).

The Big One Doesn't Get Much Bigger A massive, 25-car wreck on the final turn caused chaos at the finish at Talladega on Sunday, in the fourth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship. Matt Kenseth ran clear of the pileup to take the checkered flag; Brad Keselowski finished seventh to extend his Chase lead to 14 points. Miraculously, no one was seriously injured.
