Danario Alexander: The Big Catch

In less than four weeks Alexander has gone from fantasy afterthought to a must-start asset. The 6'5", 217-pound third-year receiver from Missouri got caught in a numbers game with the Rams, who cut him after three preseason games. He finally hooked on with the Chargers on Oct. 22, and in the past three games he's been spectacular, hauling in 15 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. As an added bonus, Alexander's arrival has increased the fantasy value of quarterback Philip Rivers.

Action

Reaction

Matt Ryan throws for 301 yards but no touchdowns, and has five interceptions against the Cardinals.

A few of those picks were tipped and Julio Jones was gimpy; Ryan will bounce back in Tampa.

Jaguars backup Chad Henne throws for 354 yards and four touchdowns, making a huge threat out of rookie WR Justin Blackmon (236 yards and a TD).

The Jaguars' receiving corps looks much less anemic with Henne under center. He's an attractive pickup at home against the passing-vulnerable Titans.

Backup running back Bilal Powell scores two rushing touchdowns for the Jets, while starter Shonn Greene fails to reach the end zone against the Rams.

Greene had more touches (18 to 11), but Powell was hot, especially in enemy territory. No depth-chart change is expected despite Powell's big game.

RISERS

Marcel Reece

RB, Raiders

The versatile 6'1" 255-pounder is the man in Oakland's backfield if Darren McFadden is out.

Beanie Wells

RB, Cardinals

He should be the first fantasy stud to achieve an in-season return from injured reserve next week.

Cedric Peerman

RB, Bengals

He's averaging 8.5 yards per carry and 9.4 yards per reception, and he's in line for a heavier workload.

FALLERS

LeSean McCoy

RB, Eagles

Uh-oh. Philly's best offensive weapon left the Redskins game with a concussion.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

QB, Bills

Cue the annual swoon: He threw 12 TD passes in four September games and five in six starts since.

Reggie Bush

RB, Dolphins

He gained 20 yards on 10 carries, the fourth straight time he has had fewer yards than in the previous game.
