TECH TALK
Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x
THE MOST POPULAR BALLS ON TOUR GET UPDATED FEATURES AND MORE DISTANCE OFF THE TEE
Adam Scott won the Australian Masters in November using the new three-piece Pro V1. It features a softer, lower-compression core than previous models, so it spins less and flies lower off the tee for more distance. The urethane cover provides greenside spin and feel. The four-piece Pro V1x—Luke Donald, Webb Simpson and Bubba Watson are converts—has a softer inner core but feels firmer and spins less than the Pro V1. A new paint treatment and sun-protection element added to the cover material allow both models to stay white longer.
