Harrison, a junior at the Memphis University School, won the decathlon at the Arcadia (Calif.) Invitational with a score of 7,066 points. A week later he set a Tennessee pole vault record, clearing 16'0" at the Ole Miss Invitational. Harrison, who won silver in his first pentathlon, at indoor nationals in March, won intermediate boys' gold in the decathlon at the AAU Junior Olympics last summer.
LAKE WALES, FLA. > TRACK AND FIELD
A sophomore at the University of Central Florida, Freeman won the 100 meters at the Florida Relays in 11.02 seconds, best in the world this season. The next week she ran a world season-best 22.57 in the 200, edging Olympian and three-time world champ Lauryn Williams for first at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. Freeman won bronze in the 60 and 200 meters at the NCAA indoor championships in March.
LINTHICUM, MD. > BASEBALL
Gregg, a senior lefty at North County High who does not have full use of his right arm due to a birth injury, threw a no-hitter in his first start of the season, striking out 10 over five innings in a 17--0 mercy rule win over Southern High. He has a 0.00 ERA. Also an outfielder, he's batting .500. A midfielder who led the Falcons to their first county soccer title last fall, Gregg will play soccer at Maryland--Baltimore County.
ORANGEVALE, CALIF. > SOFTBALL
A senior shortstop at Casa Roble High, Ali was the only high school player selected to play for the 2013 U.S. junior team, made up primarily of college freshmen, at the junior world championships in July. She is hitting .491 with four homers, 19 RBIs and 12 stolen bases for the 16-4-0 Rams. Ali also competes for All-American Sports Academy's travel team and will play next year at Washington.
HERMANTOWN, MINN. > HOCKEY
LeBlanc, a senior forward and two-year captain at St. Cloud State, led the nation with 37 assists and also had 13 goals for a team-high 50 points, helping the Huskies to their first regular-season Western Collegiate Hockey Association title and their first NCAA regional crown. LeBlanc, who sat out most of last season after suffering a compound leg fracture, was named the 2013 Hobey Baker Award winner.
BELLEVUE, NEB. > BOWLING
A senior at Nebraska, Mickelson had a national collegiate championship tournament--high individual pinfall (1,574) and bowled the clinching strike in the seventh game of the final match against Vanderbilt to help the Huskers win the title for the fourth time (4.5--2.5). Mickelson, who sustained a broken right elbow at the beginning of the season, had a 201.2 average at season's end.
