A MOVING STORY: Transition Tales
CHRIS CLEMONS
Averaged 4.0 sacks over five seasons (and three teams) as a reserve OLB, then moved to DE with Seattle in 2010. With 11 or more sacks each season since, he's the reason visiting QBs go sleepless in Seattle.
ELVIS DUMERVIL
In five years at DE for the Broncos, he was no slouch (46½ sacks), but a one-year experiment in 2009 at OLB yielded an NFL-high 17 sacks. He'll return to OLB with the Ravens in '13.
JASON BABIN
College DE began his pro career at OLB and had 17½ sacks with four teams in six years. Switched back to DE and took off: 37½ sacks the past three seasons with the Titans, Eagles and Jags, including 18 in 2011.
DERRICK THOMAS
Enshrined in the Hall of Fame as an LB, he tried his hand at DE in 1993 and had just eight sacks, a far cry from his career average of 11½—and barely more than his NFL single-game record of seven, in '90.
