Shirt Shrift

Last week was tough for Brewers leftfielder Ryan Braun, a central figure in MLB's PED case. On July 22 the league suspended him for the rest of the season for violations of its drug prevention and treatment program. Other shoes soon began to drop. Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, runner-up to Braun for 2011 NL MVP, said Braun should return the award. A security guard at Miller Park told a woman who had altered her BRAUN jersey to read FRAUD that she would either have to change her shirt or leave the stadium. More fallout came from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, once a vocal Braun defender, who said that Braun had "looked me in the eye on multiple occasions and repeatedly denied these allegations." The future of the 8 Twelve MVP Bar and Grill, a Milwaukee-area restaurant co-owned by the two men, is yet to be determined.
