ANDREW CAMPBELL | New Canaan, Conn. | Rowing

Campbell, a rising senior at Harvard, won the men's lightweight single sculls title at the U-23 world championships in Linz, Austria (7:07.84). He defeated runner-up Franciscus Goutier of the Netherlands, who had the top semifinal time, by 2.35 seconds to win the first gold medal in the event by a U.S. rower. Last year Campbell won bronze at the non-Olympic senior world championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

KENDYL LINDAMAN | Ankeny, Iowa | Softball

Kendyl, a freshman catcher at Ankeny High, hit her 24th homer in an 8--1 Class 5A quarterfinals win over Cedar Rapids Prairie High to tie the Iowa single-season record. The Hawks lost in the semifinals; Kendyl, the Class 5A player of the year, finished with a .523 batting average and a 1.211 slugging percentage. As an eighth-grader she earned state tournament MVP honors in helping Ankeny win the 5A crown.

STANLEY JOHNSON | Fullerton, Calif. | Basketball

Stanley, a 6'6" guard who will be a senior at Mater Dei (Santa Ana), had 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists and was named co-MVP while helping USA West to a 98--95 victory over USA South in the Nike Global Challenge championship game in Washington, D.C. Last season he averaged a team-high 19.4 points and 8.9 rebounds to lead the Monarchs to a third straight state title.

RAEVYN ROGERS | Houston | Track and Field

Raevyn, a rising senior at The Kinkaid School, helped the U.S. win gold in the Swedish medley relay at the world youth championships in Donetsk, Ukraine. She ran the 300-meter third leg of the event to help defeat the British Virgin Islands by 2.25 seconds (2:05.15). A half hour earlier she won bronze in the 800 in a personal best 2:03.32. Raevyn's efforts helped the U.S. earn a competition-best 17 medals.

CAMERON CHIOFFI | Weston, Mass. | Fly-fishing

Cam, a rising junior at Weston High, won individual gold with 17,580 points at the world youth championships in Dundalk, Ireland, in July to lead the U.S. to the team title. He caught 26 trout, the longest measuring 18.7 inches, for a youth world record eight placing points. In 2012, Cam was fourth at the national youth championships in Cherokee, N.C., and was seventh at the America Cup in Vail, Colo.

JULIE STEINBAUER | Doral, Fla. | Golf

Julie, a recent graduate of Carolltown School of the Sacred Heart (Miami), shot a two-under 214 to win the junior girls' gold medal by 18 strokes at the 19th-annual Maccabiah Games at the Caesarea Golf Club, the only 18-hole course in Israel. Her score helped the U.S. earn team gold. The Miami-Herald girls' golfer of the year in 2012 and '13, Julie will compete at Rollins College in the fall.
