Kyler Murray | Allen, Texas | Football

Kyler, a junior quarterback at Allen High, completed 17 of 25 passes for 464 yards in a 49--27 victory over Southlake Carroll, throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for two more. Last year he passed for 2,004 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushed for 1,342 yards and 25 scores, leading the Eagles to the Class 5A Division I state title.

Claudia Coco | Johns Creek, Ga. | Volleyball

Claudia, a senior libero at Chattahoochee High, had nine digs in a 2--0 win over McIntosh High to run her career total to 1,931 and break the state record just eight games into the season. Claudia, who is verbally committed to Tennessee, was averaging 14.6 digs at week's end for the 12-5 Cougars to extend the alltime mark to 2,061.

Miguel Vivaldo | San Jose, Calif. | Ultrarunning

Miguel, a Sunrise Middle School eighth-grader, finished the 100-mile Run-de-Vous race held on a two-mile loop in San Martin, Calif., in 23:48:21. For the first 88 miles he alternated between walking a half mile and running 1½ miles with family and friends alongside. He ran the final 12 on his own to finish in under 24 hours, taking only one 10-minute nap.

Rachel Fattal | Seal Beach, Calif. | Water Polo

Fattal, a sophomore attacker at UCLA, scored 15 goals, including two in the final against Spain, to lead the U.S. to gold at the junior world championships in Volos, Greece. She was named tournament MVP. Last season Fattal earned the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation newcomer of the year honors after averaging 1.94 goals per game.

Neal Smith | Southlake, Texas | Cross-country

Smith, a junior at Oklahoma State, helped the No. 1--ranked Cowboys to wins over Tulsa, UL-Monroe and Oklahoma at the Hurricane Festival in Tulsa. A two-time Big 12 first-team academic selection, he finished first in the season opener with a four-mile time of 20:18, leading the NCAA defending champions to a sweep of the top four spots.

Raimi Merritt | Lake Worth, Fla. | Wakeboarding

Merritt, 20, a sophomore at Valencia College (Orlando), won her second straight women's open gold medal at the IWWF world championships. She came back from fracturing her left ankle in competition in May to score 67 points in the final in Busan, Korea, winning by 9.55. Merritt is a six-time World Cup titlist.
