Turning last week's box scores into this week's waiver-wire magic

ACTION

REACTION

With Andre Johnson out late, Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins makes two huge catches, including the game-winner in overtime.

Hopkins looked like a star in the making against Tennessee. If he's available in your league, add him immediately.

After Eddie Lacy leaves with a concussion, James Starks runs over the Redskins for 132 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

Starks was the first Packer in 45 games to run for 100 yards. With Lacy's status uncertain, Starks is worth the waiver claim.

Steven Jackson catches a first-quarter TD pass, but he leaves almost immediately afterward with a thigh bruise.

Jacquizz Rodgers and Jason Snelling fell flat in relief. Jackson owners are better off hoping for a quick recovery.

Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball nearly split Denver's carries evenly, but it's Moreno who put up 93 yards and two TDs.

Ball still had 14 touches, so don't give up on him entirely. Moreno, meanwhile, looks like a top 25 RB; now would be the chance to sell high.

RISERS

EDDIE ROYAL WR, CHARGERS

He had seven grabs for 90 yards and three TDs on Sunday, bringing him to five scores for the season. Five. It's time to take the guy seriously again.

MARTELLUS BENNETT TE, BEARS

Brandon who? Jay Cutler's new favorite target caught seven balls, two of them TDs, including the game-winner.

LAMAR MILLER RB, DOLPHINS

The second-year guy put his Week 1 stinker behind him, running for 69 yards and a TD—and he did that on just 14 carries.

FALLERS

TRENT RICHARDSON RB, BROWNS

It's not all his fault, but the ineptitude of Cleveland's QBs (their 60.5 rating is 31st in the NFL) is undermining his game.

RAY RICE RB, RAVENS

Downgrade him not for struggling against a stout Browns D, but because Bernard Pierce got the goal line TD and because of a hip ding.

CAM NEWTON QB, PANTHERS

He threw for just 6.0 yards per attempt and added nothing on the ground in what seemed like a solid matchup against the Bills.
