Austin Pettis

Weeks 8 and 9 are going to be awfully tough on fantasy owners, with several offensive-minded teams on hiatus each week, including the Bears, Broncos, Colts, Lions, Texans and 49ers. By my count the fantasy community will be without 13 to 15 regular starting receivers over the fortnight. If you're one of the many who'll take a hit, consider picking up and stashing one of last week's lesser known (read: readily available) stars, Rams receiver Austin Pettis, before it's too late.

Against the exploitable Jaguars on Sunday, Pettis caught four balls for 49 yards and two TDs. He doesn't have huge numbers in 2013, but Sam Bradford has targeted him a respectable 36 times. And because St. Louis faces the stouter Seahawks and Titans in Weeks 8 and 9, it's likely that Bradford will have to put the ball up 40-plus times per game. Sometimes, all a player needs is opportunity—and Pettis will get that when you might need him most.
