Caitlin Orosco | Anaheim | Boxing

Caitlin, a junior at Katella High, won gold at the junior worlds in Albena, Bulgaria, beating Nazerke Jurgarayeva of Kazakhstan 2--1 in the pinweight final (101 pounds). Earlier this year Caitlin earned Outstanding Boxer honors in her first international event, the Pirkka Tournament in Tampere, Finland, and won a second junior national title.

Marc Lozoya | Laredo, Texas | Football

Marc, a senior wideout and captain at Alexander High, caught 16 passes for 448 yards and six touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 63--35 win over Winn High to shatter the state receiving yards record (392 yards). His output, which nearly matched his total yardage of 469 in five previous games this season, came within eight yards of tying the national record.

Ellen Port | St. Louis | Golf

Port, 52, won the final match of the USGA Senior Women's Amateur at CordeValle in San Martin, Calif., 3 and 2, to defend her title and earn her sixth USGA victory, tying for fourth on the women's alltime list. A golf coach and phys ed teacher at the John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Port will captain Team USA in the 2014 Curtis Cup Match.

Ron Garrett | Columbus, N.J. | Football

Garrett, a fifth-year defensive end at D-III King's College in Wilkes Barre, Pa., recovered a fumble and ran 22 yards for a touchdown in a 52--21 win over FDU-Florham for his fourth defensive score in as many games. A week earlier he returned a fumble 39 yards for a TD and blocked an extra point in a 41--40 double-overtime defeat of Misericordia.

Charlotte Samuels | Randolph, N.J. | Open-water Swimming

Charlotte, a Ridgewood High sophomore, 15, is believed to be the youngest to complete the 17.5-mile Ederle Swim from New York City's Battery Park to Sandy Hook, N.J. She finished the 100th annual race in 5:38.41. This year she also completed the 28.5-mile Manhattan Island Marathon Swim and the 15.1-mile Cape Circumnavigation Challenge in Cape May, N.J.

Nicolas Composto | Chicago | Cross-country

Composto, a senior at Columbia, led the Lions to victory in a field of 28, including seven ranked teams, at the five-mile Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend. He had a 12th-place time of 24:42.0, with two teammates finishing within .9 of a second, to vault Columbia from 30th in the nation to No. 8, the highest ranking in program history.
