Nia Reed | Fort Lee, N.J. | Volleyball
Nia, a 6'2" senior middle blocker at Immaculate Heart Academy, had 11 kills and three blocks to help the Blue Eagles beat North Hunterdon 25--12, 25--23 for their third straight state Tournament of Champions title. She had 510 kills this year to finish with 1,394 and led the state in hitting percentage (.557). An All-America, Nia will play at Penn State.
Roberto Aguayo | Mascotte, Fla. | Football
Aguayo, a freshman kicker at Florida State, drilled 11 extra points in an 80--14 win over Idaho to break the FBS season record for PATs without a miss, with 80. (The previous mark, 77, was set in 2004.) He extended his streak to 84 last Saturday against Florida. Aguayo has also connected on 18 of 19 field goals for 138 points, third in the FBS.
Katie Stames | Morrisville, Vt. | Soccer
Katie, a senior forward at Peoples Academy, scored twice in a 4--1 win over Thetford High to lead the Wolves to their third straight Division III state title. She had 35 goals this season to surpass the century mark for her career (107 total). Vermont's 2013 Gatorade player of the year, Katie has signed to play at St. Lawrence.
David Liu | Omaha | Tennis
David, a senior at Millard North High, beat Papillion--La Vista South's Chris Dean 6--2, 6--1 at the 3A championship to earn a third straight title and avenge the only loss of his high school career, an 8--4 pro set defeat in August. Nebraska's repeat player of the year, David is ranked No. 129 in the U.S. among boys 18 and under. He will play at Chicago.
Abbey D'Agostino | Topsfield, Mass. | Cross-country
D'Agostino, a senior at Dartmouth, won the 6K Division I title in Terre Haute, Ind., by .6 of a second (20:00.3). She is the first Ivy League runner—male or female—to win the event. A 10-time All-America, D'Agostino also became the first athlete in Ivy League history to claim five national individual championships.
Michael LeDuc | Canton, Conn. | Cross-country
LeDuc, a Connecticut College senior, won the 8K Division III championship in Hanover, Pa., in 24:29.3 to become the school's first cross-country titlist. He earned his first NCAA title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase outdoor track event last spring. LeDuc was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association D-III men's athlete of the year.
