Faces in the Crowd

Ricky Williams | Edgerton, Wis. | Football

Ricky, a junior running back at Edgerton High, led the state in rushing with 2,349 yards (9.5 per carry) to help the 9--2 Crimson Tide to their first conference title in 18 years and their first playoff win in 23. He was an AP all-state selection, the first for Edgerton (enrollment: 538) since 1966.

Danielle Nack | Madison Lake, Minn. | Swimming

Danielle, a Mankato West High senior, set a meet record in the 100-yard butterfly at the winter junior nationals in Greensboro, N.C., finishing in 52.44. The holder of the state record in the 100 fly (52.41) and the Class 1A mark in the 50 free (22.82), she won her third straight 1A title in both events this year.

Jason Todd | Mill Creek, Wash. | Basketball

Jason, a 6'5" senior wingman at Jackson High, had a double double in every game of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic in Palm Springs, including 11 points and a game-high 14 boards in a 54--45 win over Sacramento's Capital Christian High in the final. He was named tournament MVP. Jason will play at Portland.

Raven Saunders | Charleston, S.C. | Indoor Track

Raven, a senior at Burke High, won the shot put at the NCRunners Elite Holiday Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., with a throw of 53' 8¼", the fourth-best high school throw ever and more than 10 feet beyond her previous PR. Outdoors, she has won three state titles in the shot and two in the discus.

Damon Rosenburg | Leesburg, Va. | Swimming

Rosenburg, a junior at Denison, became the first Division III swimmer to achieve a sub-54-second time in the 100-meter breaststroke, finishing in 53.61 at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio. He also swam on the winning 200 and 400 medley relays as Big Red took the team title.

Micha Hancock | Edmond, Okla. | Volleyball

Hancock, a lefty junior setter at Penn State, had a game-high 48 assists and three aces to help the Nittany Lions beat Wisconsin 3--1 for the NCAA title, their fifth in seven years. She was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Hancock's 0.65 aces per set ranked second nationally.
