Natural Selection

Big men Andray Blatche (above) and JaVale McGee have zero All-Star appearances between them and are known as two of the flightiest players in the NBA. But that might not keep them out of this summer's FIBA World Cup. A Filipino lawmaker has introduced bills to naturalize the duo—who played together for 3½ seasons with the Wizards, during which they went 77--210. (Countries are allowed one naturalized player, so one of the two would be used as injury insurance.) Why? Well, they're both big, and they both seem interested—in Blatche's case, despite having never visited the country. (McGee went there for exhibition games during the 2011 lockout.) "Basically, [I would] just go over there, and I can imagine just win," Blatche said. "Play. Hoop. Win. Whatever. I don't know."
