Chris Burke's Top 10 quarterbacks heading into Saturday's NFL combine

1 Teddy Bridgewater LOUISVILLE

Worries about his build (6'3", 196 pounds) and arm strength are offset by his great feel for the pocket, his ability to make any throw and his athleticism, which keeps D's honest.

2 Johnny Manziel TEXAS A&M

Overanalyzed in all areas already. Bottom line: He plays a risky style that's not for everyone, but the team that gambles on him is landing a game-changer.

3 Blake Bortles CENTRAL FLORIDA

Very much in the mix for the No. 1 pick, he has drawn comparisons with Ben Roethlisberger and Andrew Luck. While not as refined as either, the potential is there.

4 Derek Carr FRESNO STATE

Footwork is rough in a Matthew Stafford sort of way, and he played in a very QB-friendly college offense. Oh, but that arm....

5 Zach Mettenberger LSU

Savvy senior has the ability to stretch the field, but he needs a team with an established, reliable line—especially coming off a left ACL injury.

6 AJ McCarron ALABAMA

Two-time national champ lacks the athleticism of higher-rated QBs, but he's better than the "just a game manager" crowd would have you believe.

7 Tajh Boyd CLEMSON

Suffered a precipitous drop from preseason projections with an up-and-down '13 season. Put up huge numbers as a dual threat—but will he ever be better than he is right now?

8 Jimmy Garoppolo EASTERN ILLINOIS

The hot small-school name to watch, he does everything at a rapid pace in the pocket—including, on occasion, panicking under pressure.

9 Brett Smith WYOMING

His game is reminiscent of Manziel's. Surprisingly didn't earn a combine invite, a hint that NFL scouts have reservations.

10 David Fales SAN JOSE STATE

Arm strength is worrisome, but he works well through his progressions, moves his feet and can be extremely accurate.
