Plundering from the pros

Last week Jets safety Ed Reed told authorities in Houston that he'd had $50,000 in cash—all $100 bills—plucked from the front seat of his Audi, which suffered a smashed window in the robbery. Being relieved of that much dough has to hurt, but Reed by no means endured the greatest loss of the last year among athletes. After Winnipeg Jets defenseman Tobias Enstrom suffered a cut above the eye last summer when three men robbed him at an ATM machine, his GM lamented, "[Players] are like your kids, and when they go away for the summer you're worried about things like that." These other athletes got hit mostly in the wallets.
