Kamera Harris | Hampton, Ga. | Basketball
Kamera, a 6'1" sophomore center at Dutchtown High, blocked a national-record 28 shots before fouling out with three minutes left in the fourth quarter of a 53--48 win over Veterans High in the first round of the 4A state tournament. She surpassed Brittney Griner's mark of 25, set in 2008. Kamera averaged 7.3 blocks for the season.
Fox Baldwin | Kissimmee, Fla. | Wrestling
Fox, a junior at Osceola High, went 53--0 this season and won his fourth state title, at 160 pounds, pinning Manatee High's Jesse Fulk at the 4:55 mark of the Class 3A final. Along the way he set national career records for victories (337) and pins (257); the pins mark had been held for three years by his older brother, Peter.
Destiny Nelson | Prosper, Texas | Swimming
Destiny, a junior at Prosper High, broke the 100-yard backstroke state record at the 4A championships with a 54.93 finish. She also won the 200 IM (2:00.59), highlighted by a 28.97 freestyle split. Destiny, who swims for Frisco Aquatics, qualified in January for the 2016 Olympic trials with a 4:54.08 in the 400-meter IM at the Austin Grand Prix.
Tabahn Afrik | Holland, Mich. | Swimming
Tabahn, a West Ottawa High junior, won the 200-yard free (1:38.18) and 100 free (43.90) at the Division 1 state meet, breaking the division record in the 100. He also set a division mark in the 50 free (20.27), leading off the Panthers' third-place 200 free relay. At junior nationals in December, Tabahn was fourth in the 200 free (1:37.32).
Alyssa Leonard | Bay Shore, N.Y. | Lacrosse
Leonard, a senior attacker at Northwestern, won nine draws in a 20--6 victory over Michigan to become the alltime Division I leader in career draw controls with 359. Leonard, who set a school single-season record with 125 draw controls in 2013, leads the Wildcats in scoring through six games this season, with 13 goals.
Javi Salas | Coral Gables, Fla. | Baseball
Salas, a senior righthander at Miami, threw a perfect game—the 23rd in NCAA Division I since 1957—striking out six, including the final batter, in a 17--0 win over Villanova. The Twins' 38th-round pick in last year's draft, Salas needed 113 pitches to retire all 27 batters as his brother, Jorge, a Miami freshman, called the game from the broadcast booth.
