No. 1 DODGERS
Enemy Lines
A rival scout sizes up the DODGERS
It's either going to be real great or real ugly—that's Showtime. If they're healthy and all have average seasons, they win 95 games. If they get hurt, everyone gets fired. MATT KEMP, HANLEY RAMIREZ and CARL CRAWFORD all have injury issues, and if YASIEL PUIG hits a wall running down a fly ball or with his car, they're in trouble.... If they had a second baseman, they'd be a 100-win team. I don't think ALEX GUERRERO can play the position—he's slow, his bat's slow, and he looks uncomfortable.... What worries me is that they don't have a leader in the clubhouse. Why does that matter? Someone has to rein in Puig. If somebody can get him to focus, he's an MVP candidate. Puig is such a freak—if he grew up in the U.S., he'd be the best running back in the country.... Kemp's ankle is a real problem since running is such a big part of his game. He isn't going to steal 30 bases again, but he could hit 30 home runs and hit .300. In batting practice he's swinging like he used to.... There's nothing more to say about CLAYTON KERSHAW—he's the best there is. And ZACK GREINKE is the best No. 2 out there.... HYUN-JIN RYU looks like a ball of dough, but he's very athletic, and his curveball is really good.... JOSH BECKETT is throwing great—he's not the pitcher he once was, but his command and his curveball are back. He has a better chance than DAN HAREN to have a big comeback season.... BRIAN WILSON looks as good as he's ever been—he added a knuckleball and is throwing in the high 90s. They have a chance to have a great bullpen.
