Brianna Turner | Pearland, Texas | Basketball

Brianna, a 6'3" senior wing at Manvel High, hit a jumper with 53 seconds left to lift the West past the East 80--78 at the McDonald's All-American Game in Chicago. She was named MVP. The Gatorade national basketball player of the year, Brianna averaged 20.8 points and 11.5 rebounds to lead Manvel to the Class 5A state title.

Sean Newcomb | Middleborough, Mass. | Baseball

Newcomb, a junior lefthander at Hartford, maintained the longest 0.00 ERA in Division I pitching this season at 40 innings before giving up four earned runs in a 6-4 win over Maine. He had fanned 54 and allowed 3.91 hits per nine innings, third fewest in the nation at week's end. Newcomb is ranked ninth on Perfect Game's list of MLB draft prospects.

Jamie Lee Rattray | Kanata, Ont. | Ice Hockey

Rattray, a senior forward at Clarkson, had a goal and an assist to help the Knights upset two-time defending champion Minnesota 5--4 for the national title. She finished the season with an NCAA-leading 66 points (29 goals, 37 assists) and received the Patty Kazmaier Award, which goes to the top female collegiate player.

Jacob Roark | Concord, Ark. | Basketball

Jacob, a 5'11" senior guard at Concord High, set an Arkansas record with 398 career three-pointers while helping the Pirates go 40--2 this season and win the Class 1A title 57--40 over Wonderview High. Jacob, who is also No. 2 on the state's alltime scoring list (3,617 points), has signed to play for Division II Harding in Searcy, Ark.

Meghan Lynch | Greenwich, Conn. | Swimming

Meghan, 10, a fifth-grader at the Parkway School, turned in a 1:08.07 in the 100-yard breaststroke while competing at the Eastern Zone Short Course Championships in Webster, N.Y., to break her national-age-group record by 1.72 seconds. She also set the 50-yard breaststroke mark with her 31.73 split.

Michael Hixon | Amherst, Mass. | Diving

Hixon, a freshman at Texas, won the one-meter (443.50) and three-meter (457.20) at the Division I championships to become the first Longhorn to sweep the springboard events since four-time Olympian Troy Dumais in 2002. Last summer Hixon and Dumais finished fifth in the three-meter synchronized dive at the worlds in Barcelona.
