Sarah Feeny | Ogden, Utah | Track and Field
Sarah, a recent Ogden High grad, broke her own 1,600 meters state record by 4.96 seconds with a 4:45.13 in the Class 4A meet, a national top 10 time this season. She also set a Utah mark in the 3,200 (10:22.87) and won gold in the 800 and the sprint medley relay. Last fall she set a state cross-country record (17:25.0). Sarah will run at Utah.
Darrion Flowers | Arlington, Texas | Track and Field, Football
Darrion, a junior at Sam Houston High, whose 10.27 in the 100 meters is tied for the second-fastest all-conditions time in the nation this season, ran a wind-legal 10.34 at regionals and won the 5A title in 10.39. A wideout and cornerback for the Texans, he returned six kickoffs for TDs last fall. Darrion has verbally committed to play both sports at TCU.
Megan Shortt | Kernersville, N.C. | Lacrosse
Megan, a senior at East Forsyth High, scored seven times, including twice in overtime, clinching a 12--11 win over Northwest Guilford High in the Conference 6 title game and setting a national record for goals, with 447. (She finished her career with 459.) Megan will play at Division II Catawba College in Salisury, N.C.
Max Pentecost | Winder, Ga. | Baseball
Pentecost, a junior catcher at Kennesaw (Ga.) State, led the nation in hits, with 104, and batted a school-record .423, second highest in the country. He also had the nation's longest hitting streak (36 games) and led the Owls to their first NCAA tournament. Pentecost ranks 12th among Baseball America's top draft prospects.
Jacqueline Chen | San Marino, Calif. | Speedskating
Jacqueline, a San Marino High junior, swept all four distances at age-group nationals to win the Junior B ladies' short-track title while setting records in the 500 (46.82) and 1,000 meters (1:38.88). Competing at junior worlds, in Erzurum, Turkey, for the third straight year, she placed 26th overall, the highest among U.S. girls.
Hector Formoso-Murias and Joey Armengol | Miami | Rowing
Hector and Joey, Belen Jesuit Prep juniors, won the 1,500-meter lightweight double by 10.68 seconds in 5:14.37 at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America nationals at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J., for the school's first U.S. title.
