On the Money Floyd (Money) Mayweather Jr. delivers another precision shot to Marcos Maidana en route to earning a unanimous decision in their welterweight championship fight in Las Vegas last Saturday. Despite throwing 246 fewer punches than Maidana, Mayweather landed 38 more. Undefeated in 47 bouts, Mayweather, 37, earned at least $32 million for his rematch with Maidana, who also lost by decision on May 3.

Punt Of No Return Jaguars receiver Mike Brown was close enough to whisper sweet nothings to Redskins safety Akeem Davis on Sunday in Landover, Md., as Brown fielded a second-quarter punt. And nothing is what he gained, thanks to Davis's well-timed tackle. Washington won 41--10 to start the season 1--1, while Jacksonville fell to 0--2.

With 6'8" teammate Brittney Griner, the league's defensive player of the year, sidelined because of an eye injury, Taurasi scored 14 of Phoenix's last 20 points in the 87--82 victory in Chicago to earn her second finals MVP award. The Mercury had finished the regular season 29--5, setting a record for wins.
