Austin Kendall | Waxhaw, N.C. | Football

Austin, a junior quarterback at Cuthbertson High, threw for 447 yards and four scores and rushed for 63 yards and two TDs, including the game-winner with 18 seconds left, in a 42--38 victory over previously unbeaten Weddington High. With no timeouts and 1:58 left, he led the decisive 80-yard drive. Austin has verbally committed to Tennessee.

Jane Donio Enscoe | Hammonton, N.J. | Field Hockey

Jane, a senior at Hammonton High, had a hat trick in a 7--0 win over Williamstown High to break the 100-goal mark. In September she scored three times in a 9--1 win over Williamstown to claim the school career record once held by her mother, Ann Donio. Jane, who has 48 goals in 19 games this season, has verbally committed to Princeton.

Stanley Kebenei | Fayetteville, Ark. | Cross-country

Kebenei, a senior at Arkansas, won the 8K Chile Pepper Festival in 23:53.50 to beat defending NCAA 3,000-meter steeplechase champion Anthony Rotich of UTEP by exactly one second. A week later, at the Wisconsin Invitational, Kebenei finished sixth in 23:55.00. Last year he was sixth at the 10K NCAA championships, earning All-America honors.

Cansu Usta | Brooklyn | Soccer

Usta, a freshman at St. Joseph's College--Brooklyn, had six goals and one assist in a 15--0 win over Medgar Evers. She scored another goal in a 5--2 win over Washington Adventist, helping the Bears reach the 10-win mark for the first time. Through Sunday, Usta led all NCAA divisions, men and women, with 36 goals and 79 points.

Elmer Hawse | St. Charles, Mo. | Trap and Skeet Shooting

Hawse, 81, was named the National Congress of State Games' male athlete of the year. Against shooters 17 and older he took silver in modern skeet and bronze in the other eight trap and skeet events at the Show-Me State Games in July. A month earlier he won all nine titles at the 50-and-up Missouri Senior Games. Hawse owns six state Senior Games records.

Lauren and Joe Parrini | York, Pa. | Golf

Lauren, a senior at York Catholic High, and her brother, Joe, a freshman, won District 3A championships on the same day at Briarwood Golf Club. Lauren shot an 18-over 158 on the West course to take the girls' title by 13 strokes; Joe shot a four-under 140 on the East to win the boys' title by two.
