Marquez Jackson-Allen | Mamaroneck, N.Y. | Football

Marquez, a Mamaroneck High senior running back, rushed 29 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns to beat Scarsdale High 45--20 in a Class 2A quarterfinal, the program's first state tournament win. This year he set a school single-game rushing mark (305 yards) and is averaging 9.35 yards per carry.

Rhamat Alhassan | Glenarden, Md. | Volleyball

A 6'4" freshman middle blocker at Florida, Alhassan led the team in blocks for the 19th time this season with five in a 3--0 sweep of Georgia. Through week's end she was third in NCAA hitting percentage (.463). Competing for the junior national team in July, she was the 20-and-under Continental Championships MVP.

Danny Rayl | Carmel, Ind. | Tennis

Danny, a senior at Park Tudor School, defended his state title with a 6--2, 6--0 victory over Sam Concannon of Culver Academy. Danny won the Indiana doubles championship as a freshman and has not lost in singles since the state final in his sophomore year. He has verbally committed to Notre Dame.

Anna Redding | Concord, N.C. | Golf

A senior at Cannon School, Anna fired a five-under 139 to win the North Carolina independent schools' 3A championship by seven shots, leading the Cougars to their fourth straight title. Anna, who raised $20,050 for a Kenyan hospital by making 63 birdies this season, has verbally committed to Virginia.

Austin Gerber | Churchville, N.Y. | Soccer

Gerber, a senior forward at D-III Keuka College in Keuka Park, N.Y., scored five times in a 6--1 win over Penn State--Berks to set Wolfpack records for single-game goals and season points. The Northeastern Athletic Conference player of the year led all NCAA divisions in goals (26) and points (58) at week's end.

Cherie Gruenfeld | Cathedral City, Calif. | Triathlon

Gruenfeld, 70, set the 70-to-74 women's age-group course record at the Ironman world championship in Kona, Hawaii, finishing in 14:09:13 to smash the old mark by 1:10.06. She had won the Ironman 70.3-mile world title at Mont Tremblant, Que., in September, achieving the full- and half-Ironman "double."
