SI PLAYOFF PREDICTION DEC. 1

For reactions to and analysis of the Dec. 7 announcement of the committee's four playoff teams, go to SI.com

ROSE BOWL

1 OREGON

The Ducks routed Oregon State 47--19. Now, in the Pac-12 championship they can avenge their only defeat by beating two-loss Arizona—which could make the field with a win.

4 BAYLOR

The Horned Frogs' nonconference victory over Minnesota is better than Baylor's three wins over ham sandwiches, but the Bears beat TCU 61--58. If we ignore that, why bother playing?

SUGAR BOWL

2 ALABAMA

The Tide scored 55 points and gained 539 yards in an Iron Bowl win over Auburn, proving they can win a shootout. They may have to do it again against Missouri in the SEC championship.

3 FLORIDA STATE

After facing three straight power-running teams, the unbeaten Seminoles have one week to recover and prepare for Georgia Tech's option in the ACC title game. Win, and they're in.
