Faces in the Crowd

Sam Ritz | Meadowbrook, Pa. | Indoor Track

Sam, a senior at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, set a Marine Corps Classic meet record with a 1:52.81 in the 800 meters—the top time in the nation this season—at the Armory in New York City. At the Bishop Loughlin Games a week earlier he clocked the season's best time in the 1,000 (2:28.81). Sam will run at Columbia.

Reeham Sedky | Sammamish, Wash. | Squash

Reeham, a senior at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bellevue, beat junior national teammate Kayley Leonard 3--1 to earn the 19-and-under U.S. Junior Open Championship title in New Haven, Conn., in her third straight trip to the final. In August, Reeham finished ninth at junior worlds in Windhoek, Namibia. She will compete at Penn.

Juan'ya Green | Philadelphia | Basketball

Green, a 6'2" junior guard at Hofstra, had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in an 88--62 win over LIU Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at the Barclays Center. It was the first triple double in program history and the first by an NBA or college player in the Nets' home arena. Through Sunday, Green was averaging 17.5 points.

Katie Burt | Lynn, Mass. | Ice Hockey

Burt, a freshman goaltender at top-ranked Boston College, stopped a career-high 29 shots in a 6--1 victory over Dartmouth. A silver medalist with the U.S. team at the 2014 18-and-under worlds in Budapest, she was second in the nation in goals-against average (1.04) and third in save percentage (.946) at week's end.

David Helton | Chattanooga | Football

Helton, a senior linebacker at Duke, led the ACC in tackles (134) for the second straight year and had a 3.64 GPA to receive the 25th William V. Campbell Trophy, awarded to the best student-athlete in college football. A psychology major, Helton helped the Blue Devils to finish 9--4 and to set a school record with a third straight bowl appearance.

Jennifer Hamson | Lindon, Utah | Volleyball, Basketball

Hamson, a 6'7" senior opposite hitter at BYU, led the unseeded Cougars to their first NCAA title match, a 3--0 loss to Penn State in which she had a team-high 14 kills. Last spring she led BYU to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA basketball tournament and was selected in the second round of the WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.
