Faces in the Crowd

Abby Roque | Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. | Ice Hockey

Abby, a junior forward at Sault Area High who competes for the Blue Devils' boys' team, scored a backhanded game-winner in a shootout to help the U.S. beat Canada 2--1 in the opening round of the 18-and-under worlds in Buffalo. She was a member of the team that earned silver in the 2014 junior worlds, falling to Canada 5--1 in the final.

JuWan Massey | Bridgeville, Del. | Wrestling

JuWan, a junior at Woodbridge High in Greenwood, had two pins—the first in 1:15, the second in 54 seconds—before defeating Nick Novarnik of Caravel High 4--2 to win the 120-pound weight class at the Delcastle Invitational in Wilmington. Last year JuWan won the 113-pound state championship while competing for Sussex Tech.

Channon Fluker | Altadena, Calif. | Basketball

Channon, a 6'4" senior center at Maranatha High in Pasadena, scored 43 points in a 70--53 win over Vista High at the SoCal Holiday Classic in San Diego. Through Sunday she averaged 28.1 points, 19.8 rebounds and 5.0 blocks. Channon, who will play at Cal State--Northridge, was named Olympic League MVP and All--CIF Division 4 last year.

Mauricio Robles | Monterrey, Mexico | Diving

Robles, a redshirt junior at Tennessee, won the one- and three-meter springboard events and took second in the 10-meter platform at the UT Diving Invitational. He won the three with 405.40 points—eclipsing 400 for the fourth time this season. Robles came back from a head injury sustained on a board in practice, to be named 2014 SEC diver of the year.

Maggie Kamp | Orland Park, Ill. | Volleyball

Kamp, a 6'2" junior outside hitter at Division III Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., led the Knights to the NCAA semifinals with a team-high 4.42 kills per set this season. She was named the D-III player of the year and an Academic All-America. Kamp led Calvin to the NCAA title last season, when she was the tournament's most outstanding player.

George Bugarinovic | Overland Park, Kans.

Jimmy Hammer | Collegeville, Pa. | Basketball

Johns Hopkins seniors Bugarinovic, a forward, and Hammer, a guard, both reached 1,000 career points in an 87--77 win over Muhlenberg. Bugarinovic achieved the milestone in the first half, and Hammer joined him with 2:10 to play.
