"I've picked up 3 mph in ball speed with my new M1 driver. That's probably another 10 yards. I'm O.K. with another 10 yards."

TECH TALK
We Have Liftoff
Cobra King LTD driver
Cobra's R-and-D team partnered with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), a government-run laboratory, to conduct research on the International Space Station. Insights on specific materials and constructions were then applied to the King LTD driver. The final product is packed with a carbon-fiber crown, a multithickness clubface, an adjustable hosel and a removable 16-gram aluminum-and-polycarbonate disk in the sole. Company officials say the club has the lowest center of gravity of any driver on the market plus a high MOI for added forgiveness on off-center shots. Testing shows that the King LTD generates faster ball speeds, higher-launching shots with less spin, and longer drives than competitors' models. $450; available on Nov. 13.
INSIDE STORY
A window in the sole, which resembles the International Space Station's observatory module, offers a cool view into the clubhead.
