As a longtime subscriber, I enjoyed reading the memorials to sports figures we lost in 2015 (Farewell) but was disappointed that Marv Hubbard was not included. A hard-nosed fullback out of Colgate, Hubbard symbolized the devil-may-care attitude that defined the Raiders of the 1970s. He was one of a kind.

Your farewells omitted one of the all-time Celtics, "Jungle Jim" Loscutoff, a forward who played on six championship teams from 1957 through '64. He died at age 85.

Kudos to SI for recognizing Craig Sager and Shelley Smith as Media Persons of the Year (SCORECARD). As a cancer survivor for the last 33 years, I know what it is like to try to maintain a normal life while undergoing chemotherapy. That these journalists chose to fight in public is a credit to them as individuals.

I consider myself a die-hard baseball fan, and if I had a choice among Joe Buck, Tim McCarver and Jessica Mendoza, I would choose Mendoza (SCORECARD) every time. She is not only knowledgable, but she also knows when to talk and even when not to. She has been an excellent replacement for the overbearing Curt Schilling.

I love Will Smith—a talented actor who makes great movies. But he's not the one who shone a light on football's darkest corner. That was Dr. Bennet Omalu, who did so at great professional and personal risk. Omalu deserved the cover.

POINT AFTER
I disagree with Lee Jenkins's argument that the Chargers remain extremely well-supported in recent times (POINT AFTER). Their middle-of-the-pack attendance numbers are bolstered by opposing fans, as evidenced by Philip Rivers's being forced to use a silent snap count at home many times this year. I agree that the Raiders and the Rams would be more logical choices to relocate to Los Angeles, but I also feel that it is perfectly reasonable for the Chargers to receive approval to move.
