TYROD TAYLOR

The Bills' 26-year-old quarterback sat down with SI Now guest host Ryan Asselta to discuss Taylor's 2015 season and why coach Rex Ryan is the guy to get Buffalo on track.

RYAN ASSELTA:How would you grade yourself in your first full season with the Bills?

TYROD TAYLOR: I think I played well, but it's really not about individual performance. The goal, especially from the quarterback position, is to put your team in a winning situation. I definitely think I showed I could do that and that I can play at a consistent level in this league. I'm just going to try to continue to improve.

RA:Do you think you did enough to warrant an offer for a long-term extension?

TT: I definitely think I showed what I can do. I'll let my numbers [3,305 passing yards, 568 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns] speak for themselves.

RA:Is Rex Ryan the guy who can take the Bills to the next level?

TT: Yes, I believe so. I think everyone in this building believes so. He definitely creates a relaxed atmosphere for his players in order for them to excel. He allows us to go out and be ourselves, but he also demands that we are competitive. Winning is still the goal. He's just a great coach and I think he is the guy who will get us there.

RA:The final game, against the Jets, was there any sense of trying to win for Rex?

TT: We understood how much it meant to him, but he never made it about him. That's something [about a coach] that you have to respect as a player. He just preached about going out there and finishing strong. Any time you step on the field there is something to play for and that's how we played it.
