I really enjoyed Lee Jenkins's profile of Knicks rookie forward Kristaps Porzingis(Zinger!), who's making a name for himself and for Latvia this season. But I found Greg Nelson's photo even more compelling. Aptly selected, it captures three foreign-born Spurs at the center of the action: Boris Diaw (France), Manu Ginóbili (Argentina) and Patty Mills (Australia). Porzingis, it seems, is in good company.

Thank you for Alex Prewitt's story on the Capitals' playing back-to-back games and for showing what it takes to pull off those quick turnarounds (Restless Legs). We rarely see the grueling work required to put on the show, night after night. It was an illuminating portrait.
Jim Abelson, Ann Arbor, Mich.
I think it is telling that Rams owner Stan Kroenke, who uprooted his team from St. Louis largely for financial reasons, believes the biggest issue facing the NFL is "labor stability and our television contracts" (SCORECARD). Perhaps he didn't see the results of a December poll that indicated 50% of Americans wouldn't let their sons play football. If kids stop playing, labor stability and TV contracts won't matter.
Chad Millette, Beavercreek, Ohio
I enjoyed the nods to David Bowie in the headlines of your articles on the AFC divisional playoffs (Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes and Major Tom). Just as Bowie changed the way people thought about music, Bill Belichick and the Patriots have made opponents rethink football strategy.

The headline of the Cardinals-Packers recap, This Finish Will Not Be Topped (LEADING OFF), should have read, "Why the NFL Needs to Change Its Overtime Rules." After Green Bay tied the score on a Hail Mary, every football fan was excited to see how this game would play out. Unfortunately, a coin flip again deprived us of a satisfying ending.

POINT AFTER
Kudos to Steve Rushin for such an entertaining piece on sports franchise relocations. Linking them together as he did was the journalistic equivalent of solving a Rubik's Cube.
Chuck Hadden

Having never before found any amusement or irony in sports franchise geography, I had just one thought after reading the POINT AFTER: Don't ever let another publication steal Rushin.
