
FACES IN THE CROWD
Megan Gorman | Vero Beach, Fla. | Basketball, Lacrosse
Megan, a 6'1" senior guard at Vero Beach High, had her 25th double double of the season (24 points, 15 rebounds) in a 77--68 win over Boca Raton High for the 8A title. A midfielder in lacrosse, she scored five goals in an 11--8 win over Ponte Vedra High to lead the Indians to their 10th straight state title. Megan will play basketball at Yale.
David Dinsmore | New Albany, Ohio | Diving
Dinsmore, a freshman at Miami, won bronze in the 10-meter at the world championships in Rio de Janeiro, the first medal by a U.S. diver in that event since 2008. In fifth place with two rounds left, he scored 95.20 and 91.80 points to finish with 497.05. Dinsmore's performance secured a 10-meter spot for the U.S. at the 2016 Olympics.
Kysre Gondrezick | Benton Harbor, Mich. | Basketball
Kysre, a 5'9" senior guard at Benton Harbor High, scored a state-record 72 points in an 80--78 double-overtime Class B district playoff win over Buchanan High. The previous mark of 63 points had stood since 1979. At week's end Kysre was averaging 40.5 points and had scored 2,827 for her career, second most in state history. She will play at Michigan.
Cedric Kuakumensah | Worcester, Mass. | Basketball
Kuakumensah, a 6'9" power forward at Brown, blocked the 253rd shot of his career, against Georgetown, to become the Ivy League's all-time leader (since extended to 311). Averaging 14.0 points and 9.6 boards this year, the three-time captain holds the league record for blocks in a season (93) and is a two-time league defensive player of the year.
Nicole Hensley | Lakewood, Colo. | Hockey
Hensley, a senior goaltender at Division II Lindenwood University (St. Charles, Mo.), had 32 saves in a 2--0 loss to Syracuse to become the first NCAA netminder to surpass 4,000 saves. Hensley, who finished the season with a .922 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average, was selected to compete for Team USA at worlds in Kamloops, B.C.
David and Jessica YacobucciGreenwich, Conn. | Squash
Twins and seniors, David, a captain at Brunswick School, and Jessica, a captain at Greenwich Academy, led their teams to U.S. high school titles at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. David will play at Penn and Jessica at Yale.
