Rallying For Grant

On Nov. 26, The Woodlands (Texas) High senior linebacker Grant Milton suffered a head injury in a state playoff game that required emergency brain surgery and left him in a coma. As their teammate lay in a hospital, the Highlanders pulled off back-to-back wins, including a semifinal upset over powerhouse Allen High to clinch a berth in the Class 6A D-I championship last Saturday. (They lost to Lake Travis High 41--13.) Milton's condition caught the attention of Texans star J.J. Watt, who donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe campaign for the family's medical expenses. They've received more than $141,000. "Grant loved game day," said his dad, Miles. "I know he is with his team in spirit."
