Katharine Ogden made FACES IN THE CROWD three years ago after finishing first in the under-18 women's classic 5K and freestyle 10K at the junior national cross-country ski championships. Now 19, Ogden (above) has taken her talents worldwide. At the Nordic Junior Worlds in Soldier Hollow, Utah, she became the first American to medal at the event. In the 10K skiathlon, Ogden won bronze, finishing with a time of 27:27.7. Two days later she skied the anchor leg of the 4 ... 3.3K classic-free relay, guiding the U.S. to a third-place finish in 35:11.2. "I was thrilled," says Ogden. "It was a perfect, sunny day. Everything came together. It was the highlight of my career."
