Melissa Hexter | Bel Air, Md. | Weightlifting
Hexter, a recent grad at Maryland--Baltimore County, won the 57-kg weight class at the College National Championship in San Antonio with a total lift of 355.5 kg. She also set a collegiate record in the bench press (88 kg). A year ago Hexter broke her left collarbone, and her left hand and wrist in a motorcycle accident.
Anna Hall | Greenwood Village, Colo. | Track and Field
Anna, a sophomore at Valor Christian High, won the pentathlon at the New Balance indoor nationals in New York City, finishing first in the high jump (5'10½") and second in the 800 meters (2:20.98). Last year she took the Colorado 5A high jump title (5'5½"). In 2015, Anna was the National Junior Olympics pentathlon champion for girls 13 and 14.
Jordon Adell | Louisville | Baseball
Jordon, a senior centerfielder at Ballard High, hit five home runs in a two-day span: a pair in a 12--5 win over Oldham County and three in an 8--4 win over Kentucky Country Day. Through 32 games he was batting .551 with 22 homers and 57 RBIs. Committed to Louisville, Jordon is a potential first-round pick in June's MLB draft.
Alyssa Parrella | Miller Place, N.Y. | Lacrosse
Parrella, a rising sophomore midfielder at Hofstra, was named the Colonial Athletic Association rookie of the year and to the all-conference first team. She led the Pride with 47 goals, 29 assists and 76 points, which is the second-highest total in school history. Alyssa finished first in the conference in points per game (4.75).
Ebonee Echols | Newnan, Ga. | Softball
Echols, a rising junior outfielder at Michigan State, hit two triples in a 6--4 win over Penn State to become the team's career leader, with 20. Her 11 triples this season are first in the nation. In 58 games, Echols batted .321 with three home runs and led the Spartans with 11 steals. Last season she was second in the nation with nine triples.
Dane Elkins | Brentwood, Calif. | Racquetball
Dane, a senior at Palisades Charter High, earned three medals at the national high school championships in St. Louis: boys' singles, boys' doubles (with Jared Anwar) and mixed doubles (with Atossa Rejaei). He is the second player in the event's 30-year history to claim all three medals. In all, Dane has won 21 national junior championships.
