Shake-up At the Top

Three days before the NBA draft, Boston and Philadelphia reconfigured the top of the order by swapping picks. The 76ers are now on the clock for the No. 1 choice on Thursday, and they're widely expected to take Washington freshman point guard Markelle Fultz. Meanwhile, the Celtics fall back to No. 3, and that selection is completely up in the air. Will they go with Kansas's Josh Jackson or fellow wing Jayson Tatum, from Duke? Will they even keep the pick? And how will that decision shape the rest of the evening? Our experts at The Crossover will have plenty to say on draft night; they'll grade each selection, break down which picks fit best on their new teams and explain how it all affects free agency. Do the Time Warp

Can you feel it? We've reached peak football off-season. To get through these slow summer months—and to flex those nostalgia muscles—the crew at The MMQB is examining what the NFL looked like 50 years ago. Robert Klemko will shed some light on the struggles of a former first-round draft pick, Ray McDonald, who played just two seasons in Washington, was unceremoniously cut by Vince Lombardi and later died of AIDS. And Ben Baskin will explore the debut of the expansion Saints (left), who finished 3--11 but entertained New Orleanians nonetheless. Check out TheMMQB.com for those stories and for more 1967 memories.
