PAR EXCELLENCE

The race for the FedEx Cup is down to two tournaments and three players

The PGA Tour is down to its final two events of the season: the BMW Championship (Sept. 14--17 at Conway Farms, near Chicago) and the Tour Championship (Sept. 21--24 at East Lake, outside Atlanta). Since each event offers 500 FedEx Cup points to the winner, the Cup chase—and the $10 million payout that goes with it—is down to three players: Jordan Spieth (5,071 points), Justin Thomas (5,044) and Dustin Johnson (4,650). A win this week would boost any of the three, but in the 10 years of the FedEx Cup only two players have won the season-long race without taking the Tour Championship.
