SWINGING LOW
Emilee Hoffman made FACES IN THE CROWD in September 2016 after breaking a course record at Sacramento's Del Paso Country Club with a second-round 64 to win the Big "I" championship shortly after graduating from Vista del Lago High in Folsom, Calif. She kept up her strong play last season as a freshman at Texas, finishing in the top 25 eight times, including second place at the Big 12 Championship. In the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational, Hoffman shot a seven-under 65, setting the school record; in August she helped the U.S. win gold at the World University Games in Taipei. "I like how challenging golf is," Hoffman says. "It is almost unconquerable, but at the same time it can be so rewarding."
