Triple Threat
Sabrina Ionescu made FACES IN THE CROWD in February 2016 after leading her youth basketball team in California to a 54--1 record. Now, she's making headlines after setting a remarkable individual mark. The Oregon sophomore guard now holds the Division I mark for most career triple doubles (eight) and did so in just 48 games—77 faster than the previous record-holder.
Ionescu—who is averaging a team-high 19.2 points, along with 7.3 rebounds and 7.2 assists—has been banking triple doubles her whole career, but she doesn't pay too much attention to it. In fact, she didn't know she had 21 in high school until someone told her on Twitter recently.
The Ducks, who reached the highest ranking in program history earlier this season (No. 7), are looking to get back to the Elite Eight, something they did last year. Expect a few more Ionescu triple doubles along the way—not that she's keeping count. "As long as we're winning, nothing else matters," she says.
