WATCH

PHENOMS

Premieres May 25, on Fox

Bummed that the U.S. isn't in the World Cup? Us too. But to ease your FIFA FOMO, a new five-part series will help you find other players to root for. Phenoms is a beautifully rendered, behind-the-scenes doc that highlights a few rising stars at each position. The goalkeepers episode (premiering June 1), focusing on one of the loneliest positions in sports, features (from far left) England's Jack Butland, Russia's Aleksandr Selikhov, Uruguay's Gaston Guruceaga and France's Alphonse Areola. Whether it's Butland's recovery from an ankle injury or Guruceaga's choosing a new club, the episode captures the full spectrum of a player's life. Says executive producer and former Netherlands defender Mario Melchiot, "It's not always about succeeding. It's about the failure, too, overcoming it. We're going to show you that journey."
